Reactor currently features seven individual
collections. Each is durable, attractive and functional,
yet uncommonly comfortable. The Reactor Photon is a
collection of large and versatile watches that can be
used for diving, water sports or everyday wear. The
Reactor Fallout is a solidly built dive watch that is
certain to be noticed. The Reactor MC2 is an impressive
tank-style watch available in full or mid sizes. The
Reactor Alpha, also available in full or mid sizes, is
perhaps Reactor?s most elegantly designed. The Reactor
Critical Mass is a more traditionally designed dive
watch. The Reactor Beta collection is a 200 meter watch
that with its surfboard shaped hands is sure to impress.
Finally the Reactor Heavy Water is Reactor's
premier water sports watch. Its rail system which allows
airflow between your wrist and the watch is ideal for
anyone that is constantly in and out of the water to
prevent skin irritation.
Every Reactor
watch shares several important traits. The case of each
Reactor watch is constructed of solid 316L stainless
steel, an extra-hard marine grade of stainless steel
that resists corrosion.
One
interesting design feature of Reactor watches is the use
of an extra-thick hardened mineral glass crystal instead
of a sapphire crystal. Reactor design engineers are
committed to using only the finest materials in their
watch designs, and a sapphire crystal is generally
considered superior to a mineral crystal. They found
however that the very best mineral crystals available
are only slightly less scratch resistant than sapphire
crystals, but considerably more shatter resistant, a
crucial feature in a performance watch.
Reactor tests each and every one of the watches
they manufacture to its rated depth. Reactor employs a
triple O-ring system and screw down crowns for extreme
water resistance. The O-rings provide 100 meters of
water resistance even when the crown is unscrewed.
Reactor also places a square profile seal in the watch
case back to provide more surface area and a far
superior seal to the O-rings traditionally used in watch
case backs.
Reactor uses the finest
quality Japanese quartz movements in their watches.
Quartz movements give Reactor watches not only a high
degree of accuracy, but are a great deal more shock
resistance than more delicate mechanical movements. The
movement is secured within the Reactor watch case inside
a special protective ring that protects it from whatever
punishment you care to dish out.
The
bracelets of Reactor watches will not separate from the
watch even under extreme duress. Reactor uses a unique
rod and allen head screw system to join the bracelet to
the watch that is up to 8x stronger than the traditional
springbars used in most watches. Not only is the system
super strong, but it adds to the muscular appearance of
Reactor watches.
Generous use of
Superluminova luminescent material on the dials and
hands of Reactor watches ensures outstanding visibility
even in the darkest conditions. The dial of a Reactor
watch will continue to glow brightly for up to 8 hours
after exposure to light.
The
mid-sized versions of the Reactor Alpha, MC2 and Fallout
series watches are ideally suited to women, and are
available with elegant mother-of-pearl dials and
colorful leather straps. Women will find Reactor watches
to be at once larger than most ladies' watches and
exceptionally comfortable.
Reactor
designs their watches to fit the lifestyle of the
surfer/diver/waterman, but they are more than suitable
as a stylish everyday watch as well. The commanding
appearance of Reactor watches will draw admiration in
the office, or on the beach. You will appreciate the
effort Reactor has made to craft a superior quality
watch that truly marches to its own beat.
